Coloring
One of McKenna's favorite things to do now is color. I'm amazed at how long she stays interested in one activity. Her favorite thing to draw is what she calls babies, which are smiley faces or stick figures. Sometimes she will have someone draw them for her and then will name who they are. Or she will draw and announce that she drew a baby and who it is. In the last few days she has taken to "drawing" Barney, her favorite character. She absolutely loves these big markers that her Aunt Ci Ci got her for Christmas. She always ends up with it all over her hands and sometimes even her face, but it washes right off. She likes to announce the color that she is using and surprisingly is right most of the time. She has also recently learned about glue sticks and LOVES them. I haven't gotten any for our house yet, but she loves to glue anything and everything on to paper and also LOVES to use the scissors (with very close supervision of course!) If you try to help her she says "I do, I do" until you let her do it by herself. Miss independent!

Chicken Pox
McKenna officially has chicken pox. I saw a few spots on Wednesday evening that looked like bug bites and then a few blister like places on her head. I was suspicious and called the advice nurse and then when she woke up Thursday morning she had spots all over! Poor thing hasn't felt too bad, but has started itching today. She gets so upset when I tell her not to scratch. She hasn't run a fever, but didn't sleep too well last night and finally just fell asleep for a nap today.

Here are a couple of pictures from when she was getting ready to go to a birthday play date on Wednesday. I felt horrible because I had to let all of the moms know that they had been exposed to chicken pox. She didn't have any symptoms that morning and I had no idea she had been exposed. Guess I don't have to worry about the chicken pox vaccine at her two year appointment! She is so cute pointing to her spots and saying "pox, owie, itch." Hopefully it will be over soon and won't get much worse.

Decorating a Gingerbread house with Daddy.
Getting so big!!
I can't get over how big McKenna is getting. She is learning new things everyday and talking so much! She will talk your ear off and repeats anything you say. The other day she gave daddy a fruit snack (which is a big thing for her to share) and he said thank you honey. And she repeated back with the same inflection in her voice, "thank you honey." She is putting pretty much any two words together and now starting to put three together. Her favorite two things to say are "I do" and "mine." She knows her colors now and is starting to sing along with songs which is so precious.
She absolutely loves music. She makes me sing to her all of the time, we have to always listen to her music in the car and she calls and makes her grammy since to her. She says "song, song." We usually go to story/music time twice a week. She is so cute doing all of the motions and dancing around. Her favorite part is the shakers. When I tell her we're going she says "shake, shake" and starts dancing around. She loves to jump and dance. Lately she loves to skype grandpa and make him dance with her on the computer. She gets her baby doll and then tells him to go get a baby doll and dance. It is so funny and cute!
I think she is now over 30 pounds and is still a little chunky monkey and loves to eat although she is starting to get taller and thin out and I'm sure will lose that baby look as she gets bigger. A girl after her mama's heart she loves pasta and pizza and most of all "treats," which includes anything sweet.
It is so fun watching her grow and change and such a privilege to be able to stay home with her every day to experience it. Here are a couple of pictures of her with her backpack that uncle aaron and aunt kristina gave her. She is so cute packing it before we go places like the doctor's office. It is funny once we get there to see what she put in it. Last time it was a measuring tape, ball, finger puppet, cell phone and a note pad and crayons. She tried to stuff her baby doll in there, but after all the other stuff it wouldn't fit!
Christmas!
Trying to find a picture for our Christmas card!
I haven't posted in forever! We are just now getting back in to the swing of things after being gone for two weeks to Texas and then coming back here for new year's and Christmas with Brandon's family. Below are some pictures from Christmas.
We had lots of fun in Texas and really enjoyed the sun and warm weather. I was gald we escaped most of the snow so we weren't stuck for two weeks! We got to see my grandma, aunts and uncles and some of my cousins. McKenna took quite the liking to my cousin Cade who is 13. She would scream his name over and over when he would leave the room.
My family spoiled McKenna to death! When we got back to Oregon and it was just us at home she was like hey where's all of the attention. She loves being the center of attention, surprise, surprise. She would escape to grammy or bapa if I would try to get her to do something she wasn't wanting to do like take a nap or change her diaper. She had so much fun and we were all sad to leave, but it was nice to come back to our bed!
